Daily Dish at Wagamama, Rotterdam

Todays visit is at the Japanse restaurant Wagamama, Rotterdam

One of most “gezellige” street in Rotterdam, the place where you should be when you want to have a great night out for dinner is, Witte de Withstraat. In this street there are a variation of restaurants and bars where in the summer you can dine and drink outside in the streets of Rotterdam. During the week and in the weekend, this place is loaded with people. One of the restaurants in this street is the Japanese Wagamama.

The restaurant is located on the street side. In summer when all big doors are open, you can have dinner with street view, just like in Asia. There are two floors, on the ground floor where you also see the chefs working in the open kitchen, or on the first floor.

Interior: The restaurant is simplistic (less is more) decorated. Love accent of the dark walls and furniture with the big white original lamps above the tables. Also love the big doors, which were all open when we visited the place. When we were dining on the first floor we could see the life outside in the streets of Rotterdam.

Food and drinks: I had the fresh tropical juice and the mint tea, both were fine. The taste of the rice and the Yakitori duck was good. Especially the rice was beautiful. If the duck was served with little bit less oil and the salad (tasteless) was served with sweet and sour salad dressing, than this dish would have been perfect for me. But of course this is only a matter of taste. Other people could well enjoy it as it is.
